Make a Pattern

Make a Pattern

Posted by Tara Nearents on

Hi, guys! In the last lesson, we learned how to vectorize our work using the iPad Pro and Procreate app. In this lesson, I’m going to show you how to make a pattern. I’ve got two patterns to share with you today; the first is uniform and even, while the second is a little more organic.

Take a look at the following video to see a step-by-step guide for creating both types of patterns.

Tips & Tricks:

  • To copy and paste, use three fingers swiping down on your screen.
  • Everything you make goes into a new layer. Merge layers to make resizing, moving, and duplicating easier and faster.
  • Get the know the tools at the bottom. Rotate, flip, or mirror your images. The possibilities are endless!
  • Select a portion of your pattern with the Apple Pencil to copy and paste smaller areas.

Now you know how to make uniform and organic patterns. Practice your new skills and share your patterns here in the lesson. As always, ask any questions you may have. I’d love to help! Then join me in the next lesson for some of my favorite iPad Pro hacks!
